The Maker’s Commitment
As a professional social historian and arms expert, my work is rooted in the academic and practical study of edged tools. Each knife is a unique, handcrafted piece of functional art, meticulously built in my studio in Riga. I do not produce mass-market items; I create heirloom-quality tools intended for those who appreciate the historical soul of a blade.
Limited Craftsmanship Warranty
I stand behind the structural integrity of my work. I provide a one-year limited warranty to the original purchaser, covering any Maker’s Error or structural failure of the folding mechanism. Whether a claim is valid is determined at my sole discretion based on a technical evaluation of the knife.
Natural Materials & Aesthetics
No warranty is provided for natural materials. I work with organic substances such as wood, horn, bone, and stag. These materials are subject to the laws of nature—they may shrink, swell, or develop small surface checks due to changes in humidity and temperature, especially during transit between Europe and the US. These are not defects; they are the character of the material.
Terms of Service & Voidance
This warranty is strictly limited to intended use. It is voided by:
- Abuse: Prying, batoning, throwing, or any non-cutting tasks.
- Disassembly: Any attempt to take the knife apart voids the warranty. Custom folders are precision-tuned; disassembly by the owner often leads to mechanical misalignment.
- Rust & Patina: Corrosion is a matter of maintenance, not a defect in the steel.
International Shipping & Logistics
I am a solo maker based in Latvia (European Union). Please be aware of the following:
- Shipping Costs: In any event requiring service or evaluation, the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, insurance, and duties to my studio. If a craftsmanship error is confirmed, I will cover the return shipping to you.
- Customs & Legality: All sales are final. It is the buyer’s absolute responsibility to ensure the knife is legal in their jurisdiction. I am not responsible for items seized or damaged by customs authorities.
